What is statement jewellery?

Statement jewellery is, essentially, the opposite of subtle – these pieces are often bright, large and colourful. You may think that statement necklaces had their heyday in 2013, however this isn’t the case – these jewellery pieces are making a significant come back and they are back better than ever.

How to style statement jewellery

1. Dress them down – when styling statement jewellery, you really want the piece to take centre stage with your outfit. That’s why it is important not to style them with other complex or geometric patterns. Instead, choose plain block colours to really make the piece pop.
2. Consider the neckline – a statement necklace has the ability to take an outfit from 0-100, however you want to ensure that the necklace you have chosen complements the neckline of your outfit. For a squarer neckline, you will need a rounder necklace. Alternatively, if you are wearing a deep plunge neckline then a pendant would be perfect.
3. Don’t overdo it – the great thing about statement jewellery is the fact that you only need one piece. Et voila! You have made a statement. Wearing different pieces of statement jewellery at the same time could ruin your look.
